Japan Pro Bowling Top League "io.LEAGUE"
This is a new professional bowling top league where professional bowlers from across Japan form teams based on prefectures and regions to compete throughout the season. The league introduces a mixed-gender alternating throwing format and a scoring rule that is easy to calculate, even for beginners, making it a promising new addition to energize the bowling industry.
League Overview
Divided into 6 clubs from the east and west, competing in seasons (first half and second half).
Adopts the Current Frame Scoring System: A scoring system different from the usual strikes and spares.
- For a strike, a fixed score of 30 points.
- For a spare, the first throw + 10 points.
- In other cases, the total of the first and second throws.
- The final frame, the 10th frame, is treated like other frames, so a third throw - is not allowed.
- The highest score for a perfect game is 300, requiring 10 strikes.
- Mixed-gender Baker matches:
- In team matches for one game, players alternate throwing each frame.
